The Davies Manor Association preserves and interprets the Davies Manor loghouse museum and historic site. We provide quality exhibits, field trips, and daily tours to keep our mission to preserve and interpret rural Shelby County Tennessee farm life 1830- 1930.
This historic Site, located in Bartlett, includes the oldest home in Shelby County open to the public, thirty-two historic acres of surrounding land, and numerous outbuildings. These outbuildings include a former sharecropper's cabin, a restored commissary, and two nineteenth-century frontier-style cabins relocated to Davies Manor in 2006. Added in 2022, the Black Schoolhouse, a local possible Rosenwald school, was also added to the grounds.
Additionally, the property contains several gardens and an arboretum walking trail. Our current interpretive program consists of docent-led tours of the log home, a changeable temporary exhibit, a permanent exhibit on the history of slavery and sharecropping at Davies Plantation, and a self-guided walking tour of the grounds and outbuildings.

Explore the surrounding 32-acre property, featuring additional historic log-cabins and outbuildings, gardens, wildlife, and a wooded arboretum walking trail.

Davies hosts many events from plays, activity days, and more. Use the button below to check out our upcoming events.

We love to share our history. Join us for field trips, homeschool days, or have us join you with one of our traveling trunks.

Hillwood at Davies Manor, our event hall, is available to rent and provides income to keep tour prices reasonable. An event with us is an event supporting local history preservation and interpretation.
